Assistant Dean, School of STEM
I am currently employed at Owens Community College in the position of Assistant Dean for Advanced Manufacturing, Skilled Trades, and Transportation Technologies within the School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). In this role, I work closely with faculty members to identify opportunities that would enhance student performance and progression.
Under the guidance of the Dean, I provide leadership and supervision for faculty and staff in the areas of teaching, curriculum revision, development, technology, and assessment, with a strong emphasis on academic excellence. I am responsible for monitoring, initiating, and proposing the approval of all purchase orders and expenditures. Additionally, I am responsible for preparing teaching assignments for both full-time and adjunct faculty, including monitoring staffing capacity and arranging for substitute teachers when necessary.
Furthermore, I actively pursue strategies that will provide students with clear pathways to their academic goals.
As the leader of an academic division, I am dedicated to promoting accountability and innovation. I actively participate in the planning, execution, and measurement of student outcomes, and I strongly advocate for fostering a culture of success and effective change strategies.
Prior to joining Owens Community College, I gained extensive experience in program management, teaching, and collaboration in these technical fields. Additionally, I have established strong connections with partners from high schools, universities, and businesses in northeast Ohio.
