With the exception of plenary speakers, all participants must book their own accommodations.
There are two standard options for accommodations available: The Delta Hotel in Uptown Waterloo, and on-campus residences at United University College. Participants are welcome to pursue other options if they wish.
Hotel Accommodations:
We have secured a special rate of $199 CAD per night (plus taxes/fees) at the Delta Hotel in Waterloo (110 Erb St W, Waterloo, ON N2L 0C6). This hotel is about 15-20 minutes on foot from campus, and is located in uptown Waterloo, near several restaurants and stores. In order to place your booking at the above rate, please use the following link. This rate expires after June 14, 2024.
On Campus Accommodations:
We have reserved a block of double rooms (each with single occupancy) at United University College. This location is 5-10 minutes on foot from the main lecture room. The price is $60 CAD (plus tax) per night. Please use the following link to make your booking:
United College Booking Link (BAOA2024 is your group access code.)
***Please note that room type will show as a traditional double for all reservations but the pricing will reflect single occupancy in the room. Guests will be able view the rooms and pricing before having to confirm and register. Payment will be due at the time of the booking and will re-direct to a payment portal. After payment, additional services will be listed and people will be able to request roommates, parking, etc. Please note that the system only has the capacity to book one bed per person, so you are unable to select multiple beds in one transaction and the system will not allow the same person to book over the same time period (as we prefer to have individual contact information versus people being able to book for others).
If you should have any further questions or trouble accessing the booking system please reach out to:

The University of Waterloo is located in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, which by automobile lies about 1 hour and 30 minutes West of Toronto. Pearson International Airport in Toronto is the nearest international airport with connections across the world. There are other regional airports which may have some connecting flights to the USA or other parts of Canada: Waterloo Region International Airport, London International Airport, and Hamilton International Airport.
Getting to Waterloo from Toronto: There are several ways one can travel from Toronto (downtown or airport) to Waterloo: Go Transit, Shuttle Bus, car rental, Taxi, Uber/Lyft, etc.
Taking a Taxi is the simplest (but most expensive) option. A one-way fare from the airport would be about $120-$140 CAD.
If you use Go Transit, there are regularly scheduled buses leaving from Pearson Airport Terminal 1 taking you to The University of Waterloo Station (one bus transfer is required for most routes). From the University of Waterloo station, the on campus accommodations are a short walk away. The Delta hotel is about 20 minutes on foot from the University of Waterloo Station. You can also take the ION light rail train from the University of Waterloo Station to the Waterloo Public Square Station (2 stops away), which is about 5 minutes on foot from the Delta hotel.
