Day 13 (4/27): Rainy day blues
The plan was to wake up this morning and go to the "medina" for nice stroll and a cup of coffee until we go to the school to co-teach/ observe two classes and say goodbye to everyone in school. However it started raining pretty early and kept raining all day ! As it was our last day in Chefchaouen, we still stubbornly went out but soon realized the best we could do was sit in a cafe and watch rain.... which is what we ended up doing for the better part of the morning.
We took a cab to go to school for the last time. It definitely felt bitter sweet. We attended 2 classes and participated in a group discussion about brain drain before we said goodbye to the students, teachers and administrators of the school. This beautiful school will forever be part of my life and so will be the students. We made a quick stop at a private school visiting a special ed classroom. Amazing teacher and beautiful children.

We went back to the hotel hoping the rain will stop and we will be able to head out to the medina for some shopping soon but nothing changed until 4:30 pm when I gave up and ended up walking to the medina in rain. Ended up buying a whole of goodies to take back home. The night ended with a wonderful dinner we hosted for our host and his family. It has been an honor and pleasure to work with Aziz. Him and his family extended their heart and home to welcome us at Chefchaouen. I will be forever grateful for this opportunity to get to know this family and work with Aziz! I hope to see all of them soon and continue to work with Aziz for years to come.
Tomorrow morning we head back to Casablanca for our final day of debriefing !
