March 2026
As a first-time attendee and possibly one of the few public school educators among over 400 participants from 10 countries, I felt an immediate sense of belonging at the Global Educators Conference in Atlanta.
What stood out most was a shared commitment to connection as the foundation for building a more open, equitable, and empathetic world. This is the work we must intentionally bring into our classrooms so students can see their place in it, recognize their value, and develop agency as global citizens. Throughout the conference, I found myself thinking of my Fulbright colleagues and sharing ideas in real time with my student teacher, eager to translate learning into practice.
A powerful takeaway from Dr. Sanjay Gupta’s keynote continues to stay with me: “You don’t have to be able to travel to have perspective.”
As a Title I educator, this resonates deeply. Global education is not a luxury. It is essential, especially for students who may not have access to travel. They need to know that they are part of a larger, interconnected world and that their voices and actions matter.
This experience reaffirmed my commitment to creating access, expanding perspective, and building meaningful connections for my students because exposure creates possibility, and connection makes it real.
Global Education Symposium: Washington DC,
February 5-7 , 2026
Deeply grateful for the opportunity to be invited to Washington, DC to present at the 2026 Global Education Symposium as a Fulbright Teaching for Global Classrooms (TGC) alumna.
I had the honor of presenting on my experience leveraging the Global Education Guide, the capstone project that all Fulbright TGC participants create, and how it can be used as a living tool to foster global connections, collaboration, and sustained impact in classrooms and communities. The presentation was met with meaningful engagement, rich dialogue, and positive feedback.
Sharing my work alongside such inspiring global educators and leaders was truly energizing and reaffirmed the power of international collaboration in education. I am incredibly thankful to the Fulbright TGC community for providing this platform and for continuing to create spaces where educators can learn from one another and amplify each other’s work.
Arts Integration is an interdisciplinary teaching practice through which non arts and arts content is taught and assessed equitably in order to deepen students’ understanding of both.
Learning, growing, and building forever relationships.

Panel speaker at Fulbright information session and recruitment webinar - Jan. 14, 2025
IREX is currently in the midst of Fulbright Teacher Exchanges application season for 2025-26. To help people understand what Fulbright Teacher Exchanges has to offer for U.S. K-12 educators and give tips for assembling a strong application, IREX hosted an informational webinar on January 14.
A portion of the webinar was dedicated to a panel discussion with alumni of the U.S. Teacher programs. I was fortunate to represent Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms as a panel member and discuss my experience to help fellow K-12 educators who are interested in applying. This was a great opportunity to share as over 250 participants joined the webinar.
