Speaking to Cub Scouts about Religion
April 18, 2026
I had the pleasure of speaking with a local Cub Scout pack as part of their program exploring different religions practiced around the world. I shared some of the basic beliefs and traditions of Hinduism and discussed both the similarities and differences between Hinduism and Christianity, emphasizing shared values such as kindness, compassion, service, and respect for others. Opportunities like these help foster understanding, respect, and appreciation for the rich diversity of cultures and faiths that make up our world.
On April 8, 2026, I had the opportunity to participate in a training session for selected Fulbright Alumni Ambassadors, organized by IREX as part of the Fulbright Teacher Exchanges Program.
The session focused on how alumni ambassadors can effectively represent the Fulbright program through outreach, engage with prospective applicants, share their Fulbright experiences, and promote the value of international educational exchange. It was inspiring to collaborate with fellow Fulbright alumni and learn strategies for expanding awareness of the program and encouraging more educators to pursue these transformative opportunities.
I am honored to serve as a Fulbright Alumni Ambassador and look forward to helping future educators discover the professional and personal impact that the Fulbright experience can offer.

School: Kolotan, India
December 2024
Administrators from Kolotan in Kolkata, India joined me via Google Meet to discuss a range of instructional strategies, with a particular focus on trauma-informed teaching and approaches to sex education. Addressing topics related to sexual education can be especially challenging in India due to cultural taboos. However, there is a significant crisis in economically disadvantaged communities, where girls often leave school and become pregnant at a young age. The administrators from Kolotan were interested in exploring age-appropriate books and effective methods for discussing these sensitive topics in a respectful and supportive way.
