Day 3 (4/17) : Visit to Rabat International School
Today we started the day by visiting the American school of Rabat. Honestly when I got the first glimpse of it, my jaw dropped to the ground. Huge open facility built in the style of Riyadh as mentioned by the director. The school serves Pre-K through grade 12 as has students representing 50 different countries ! It has exceptional facilities in terms of STEM labs, performance art, visual art and sports ! The soccer field was a complete wow 😵💫.

The teacher from india
By the way, I met a teacher there who has come all the way from India and teaches 4th grade. Her husband teaches at the same school in the high school section.

After the tour we had lunch at Dar where we washed our hands ( traditional way) as we entered the restaurant. Food as usual was amazing ! I was able to take some super cool photos.

After lunch we went to MACECE to listen to a lecture from Dr. Khalid Saqi, about «Islamic studies ». I loved what he said when he concluded his lecture ! He said after a period of vacuum, he has noticed a rise in interest once again for «Islamic studies » and he said that is a wonderful sign because when you actually have knowledge, you learn to be flexible and moderate and hence push back negative influences.
I came back from the lecture with a question which I got to ask him at the networking reception for Moroccan Alumni in the evening !
It was outside, by the pool area, and the weather was perfect. The hors d'oeuvres were arranged beautifully, and I filled up on them.

Highlight of the day was the zoom call with my class back in the US when I had a 45 min break to get ready for the reception and pack ! My principal walked in to the class right at that time and he was able to talk to me too ! I was able to see the faces of my kids in class and they got a glimpse of AFRICA !!!
The night ended with a nice walk to the Medina where I bought my Moroccan tea set !!! Hard to believe it is our last day in Rabat and I need to pack up !
So long Rabat! It was amazing 😻
