PD day in Chefchaouen 

Day 11 (4/25): Professional Development day in Chefchaouen

This morning was our workshop for EFL teachers of Chefchaouen. I thought it would be only for teachers of the school we were at but it turned out to be much more than that. 

There were 32 teachers from 8 different schools. The supervisor for all those teachers, Mr. Abdelouahid Elmouzrati  was present throughout the entire presentation and he was extremely kind and welcoming to us ! 

We were also very fortunate that the superintendent of entire  Chefchaouen, superintendent Abdelghafour Azaoui (المدير الاقليمي بشفشاون السالغفور عزاوي )also stopped by on his way to Rabat. I had no idea this presentation would be such a big deal. Hopefully we were able to do justice given that a lot to of them traveled from far away villages. We had a wonderful discussion session with the teachers.  

We were presented with certificates which was such a wonderful gesture. 

Then we observed several presentations in a French class about «effect of technology on young people »

Aziz drove us to his home for a lunch afterwards and this was really a royal feast. The starter salad was served in the most artistic way. It had rice, potatoes, beans, carrots, beat root, pineapple and avocado ! I must say his wife is the most amazing cook and I cannot thank him enough for his kindness.

The next course was homemade bread with chicken tagine ! The dish was so delicious and flavorful ! 

Finally we had a very special and dish called Kounafa ( كنافة )apparently very traditional in Palestine ! This was the most amazing feast !
