Wind Ensemble

The Wind Ensemble is under the Direction of KC Christensen. The ensemble meets daily on 3rd/7th period. The Galena Park Wind Ensemble is comprised primarily of Juniors and Seniors and the most advanced underclassmen. The Wind Ensemble performs collegiate level literature and its members are expected to be fully invested in the program. Students in the Wind Ensemble are required to take private lessons, audition for the TMEA Region 33 Honor Bands, and perform successfully at all contests.

Membership is by audition. The Wind Ensemble holds scheduled auditions during the Spring semester of the previous year. Wind Ensemble members are expected to know all 12 major/natural minor scales from memory and have the ability to sight read medium to advanced music while maintaining tonal control of their instruments. The Wind Ensemble is the smallest and most exclusive group in the Galena Park HS band program. Students should regard their membership as an honor.
