Welcome to the Banana Hunter Project ("BananaHunter"), developed by a team of researchers from the Universiti Malaya, Malaysia (“the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By accessing or using the App, you agree to comply with these Terms of Service (“Terms”). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Purpose of the App

The Banana Hunter Project App is designed for users to:

• Learn about banana plant biodiversity.

• Contribute plant-related data, including photos, descriptions, and location information.

2. Eligibility

We encourage that you be at least 18 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, it is highly recommended that you use the App only with the consent of a parent or guardian. This App has a rating of 4+, under the App Store Terms and Service.

3. User Accounts

• You must create a Google account to access all features (e.g., contributing plant data).

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

• You agree not to share your account with others or impersonate another user.
  
  

4. User Contributions

By submitting plant data (photos, descriptions, location):

• You confirm the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

• You grant the App and its operators a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, display, and store your contributions for research, education, and project purposes.

• You retain ownership of your content but understand that it may be used in aggregated research outputs, reports, or publications.

• You agree not to upload unlawful, harmful, or offensive material.
  
  

5. Location Services

The App may collect your GPS location (with your permission) to tag plant contributions.

• You can disable location sharing at any time in your device settings.

• Location data is stored securely and used only for research and mapping purposes.

6. Privacy

We respect your privacy. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Misuse the App for fraudulent, illegal, or malicious purposes.

• Upload content that infringes on third-party rights.

• Attempt to hack, disable, or disrupt the App.

8. Intellectual Property

All text, graphics, logos, and design elements in the App (excluding user-generated content) are owned by [Universiti Malaya / Us] and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws based in Malaysia.

9. Disclaimers

• The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

• We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or absolute accuracy of plant identification.

• The App should not be used for commercial gain without prior consent.

10. Limitation of Liability
