Below I recommend my general use set. If you are looking for sets I'll show you three different general use sets with increasing amounts of damage but also increasing difficulty of play.
All three sets are built in a way so you can change the zenith cuff to Skill Slots Up PZ2, if you choose to play a weapon that doesn't have Skill Slots Up on it.
This set is your basic DPS set without playstyle changing skills like SW or obscurity. Having evasion built into the set makes it very flexible too. This leaves you with many options as what to get as Diva Skill or Guild Food. The Resistances are also good enough to easily get 55 Res if you want to take this to road.
This is usually my go to set for casual hunting, but if you like more optimised damage feel free to consider the next two sets.
This set will deal more damage than the previous one but at the cost of playing SW. SW requires you to play at minimum stamina which can make dodging some attack strings really difficult. If however you practice enough and make good use of the animation cancel you can avoid everything you need to. Getting Stamina Recovery Up (Lg) either as Diva Skill can also help learning SW but if you proc Rush Up regularly it shouldn't be needed.
This set trades Ice Age and Vigorous Up for Obscurity and Obscurity Up, which if used correctly give a massive +300 raw. Just remember that for obscurity to be useful you need to PD twice to get the full benefit (First PD = +210 raw, Second PD = +90 raw) and if you get knocked down by the monster you'll lose the entire benefit and need to PD again. If you decide to play a weapon that does not have Skill Slots Up as their Z-Skill be aware that you'll lose Rush Up with this set, which can be annoying in some matchups.
Since SnS is a heavily elemental focused weapon, you generally want to go element on your sigils too. Don't forget Beam Slash though. This moveset changing Sigil will change your best DPS combo and be more important than the +12 Element you could get in its place. SnS wants to be at least at Long Length and the choice between Long and very Long is often preference. So just choose Length according to your weapon and preference.
If you're curious about Z-sigils I'll explain more about them in the Speedrunning section.
The Ideal Sigil lineup for element looks something like this.
Slot 1:
SnS Up 15 | Beam Slash | Length
or
SnS Up 15 | Beam Slash | Elemental +12
Slot 2:
Elemental 15 | Elemental 15 | Elemental 15
Slot 3:
Elemental 15 | Elemental 15 | Elemental 15
or
Z-Sigil:
Element 15 | Duration 12 | Wait Time 17
The Ideal Sigil lineup for Raw would look something like this.
Slot 1:
SnS Up 15 | Beam Slash | Raw SnS Boost
Slot 2:
Attack 15 | Attack 15 | Attack 15
Slot 3:
Attack 15 | Attack 15 | Attack 15
or
Z-Sigil:
Attack 15 | Duration 12 | Wait Time 17
I personally use two different Item sets depending on If I use adrenaline or not. As always switch the Fruit to a skill you need (for the most damage pick the corresponding elemental attack fruit).
