Peter Moran is a partner in the insurance team at Colin Biggers & Paisley  and has over 30 years' extensive experience in insurance, reinsurance and commercial litigation. He has expertise in the defence of claims against solicitors and other professionals, as well as a Lawcover panel solicitor for 27 years.

 Peter regularly presents papers and seminars to clients and the legal profession and conducts training sessions for regional legal practitioners throughout NSW on good practice and risk management.

In 2014-15, 2016 and 2017, Peter was listed in Best Lawyers in Australia as a leading insurance lawyer. In 2015, Doyle's Guide listed Peter as a recommended Sydney professional indemnity lawyer.

Michael started his career in law as an articled clerk in 1966 and was admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of NSW in 1972.

Michael then practised law in and around the Wollongong area from 1972 until 2009.

Michael was accredited as a property law specialist by the Law Society in 1995.

From 2009 to date Michael has been a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Law – Professional Legal Training – Commerce and Property Practice – at the University of Wollongong.

Gerard Doyle is a partner at Bugden Allen Graham Lawyers

Gerard Doyle is an experienced lawyer who has specialised in strata and community title law for over 20 years. He has worked with, and been a partner of, leading law firms in this area.

Gerard provides advice to private clients, community schemes, owners corporations and developers on various strata and community title matters, including strata renewal. Gerard has also acted in various litigious matters including a leading case on the development of community title schemes.

Gerard is a Fellow of the Australia College of Strata Lawyers, and sits on the Council of this College, a member of the Law Society of New South Wales and has completed accredited mediator training.

Gerard has presented at strata sector and legal conferences. Gerard has participated in research projects, including with City Futures, University of New South Wales, and participates in relevant stakeholder groups in the strata sector.

Alan Connor is a highly experienced Director in Risk Consulting at Grant Thornton Australia, based in Sydney. With over 15 years of experience gained in the UK, USA, and Australia, Alan specializes in helping businesses navigate complex prudential and legislative standards, with a particular focus on risk management, internal audit, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML).

Alan has a deep understanding of regulatory compliance, having worked with clients across various industries including financial services (banks, broker-dealers, money services businesses, virtual currency exchanges, credit rating agencies, REITs, and casinos). His recent AML/CTF experience includes identifying and remediating control deficiencies, program consulting, and conducting AML transaction lookbacks, often in conjunction with regulatory bodies like AUSTRAC.

His insights into the evolving risk and regulatory landscape, particularly concerning financial crime and compliance, make him a valuable speaker for licensed conveyancers grappling with new obligations. Alan's ability to simplify complex regulatory requirements and provide practical guidance will be highly beneficial for understanding the intricacies of property transactions and their broader legal implications.

Alan is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS). He began his career as an accountant before moving into risk consulting.
