In the Bales Lab, we approach our scientific goals with a highly motivated and collaborative spirit. Our students come from all backgrounds and disciplines, using our diversity to our advantage to address scientific questions.

Connor Malloch

Howdy! I am Connor Malloch and I graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in biology. I have been a Bales Lab Tech since 2024 and my future goals include going to optometry school. I love the outdoors and I am an Eagle Scout.

Teresa Anderson

Hi! I am Teresa Anderson, a senior at Georgia Tech in the BME program. I have been an undergraduate researcher in the Bales Lab since 2023. I am applying to medical school in 2026 and I enjoy concerts and running when I am not studying or in lab.

Sam Perry

Hello! My name is Sam Perry. I'm an undergraduate at Emory University, majoring in Biology (BS). I am pursuing a career in Veterinary Medicine, with my main interests being Lab Animal and GP. I enjoy watching horror movies, painting, and attempting new recipes in my free time!

Alayna Hashmi

I am a Biology major at Georgia Tech. My future career goal is to attend medical school and pursue a career in family medicine. One fun fact about me is that my favorite show is Gilmore Girls!

Vivian Chen

Hi, I'm Vivian! I'm a 2nd year neuroscience major at Georgia Tech on the pre-optometry path. I've been in the Bales Lab since summer 2025. In my free time, I love drawing and collecting plants!
