Balcairn is super excited to welcome Matiu back after his amazing show in 2023. 

As a musician, Matiu’s ability to powerfully connect with and lift a crowd with his powerful stage presence and with his solid solo looping show is mesmerising.

Looping live, Matiu's soulful roots music has a strong Maori flavour, using haka, chants and traditional Maori movements, backed by grabbing grooves, deep, beautifully crafted bass lines, funky rhythms and magical melodies that stay with you well after the show ends, all held up by a pillar of Pacific passion and top class technical precision.

Matiu will take you on a  musical journey, lifting to you places only dreamed of. You will laugh, love and maybe even cry a little as the emotional music will fill you heart, and will make your spirit - and maybe your feet! -dance. the night away. 

Matiu's workshop is an interactive workshop. It will cover traditional Māori practices and make them relevant to a modern world. Participants will leave with ancient yet practical tools to support them in the way they stand, speak, listen, connect and move powerfully through this life.
