CURRICULUM

This is a resource page for new teachers, seasoned ones, or anyone just interested in seeing what my classroom is about.

After completing my first year of teaching, I realized that there were not many resources out there that I could whip up and use to get through the day. I remember during student teaching or even my first year on the job, trying to Google some activity, guidelines, or lesson plan to supplement what I was brainstorming for tomorrow's agenda. It was a constant state of anxiety, stress, and fear—a lack of confidence in myself. I could not find anything that said, "Here's the curriculum book that will wipe away all your problems!" because none of them evoked my vision. This is not to say that there are not dozens of texts, resources, or even curriculum created for [new] teachers to help them build their curriculum. But those resources are not exactly accessible or readily available thanks to pay walls.

If this can help a new teacher, someone who has doubts in making curriculum, is even lost with which direction to take your lessons in, or just needs to feel validated with all the mixed emotions from trying to stay afloat—I hope this inspires you to find ways to incorporate yourself into your curriculum and allow your students to connect with what you are passionate about.
