Balancing the Scales is an informational platform designed to give diverse persons entering the legal profession the best fighting chance at academic, professional, and financial success. We believe that there is nothing more important than providing access to others. We follow the belief that "in every neighborhood, there's a Michael Jordan. The one that we know is just the one who made it." Through strategic programming and open communication about resources, we are building a more equitable pathway to the legal profession.

Diverse Attorneys Matter

As Reported by the American Bar Association

Despite being 14% of the national population, only about 5% of attorneys in the United States are Black.
Despite being 18.5% of the national population, only about 5% of attorneys in the United States are Hispanic.
Despite being 5.9% of the national population, only about 2% of attorneys in the United States are Asian.
Women make up nearly 40% of attorneys in the United States, but Women of Color only make up 3% of equity partners are private law firms, compared to 17% for White Women.
