Wash dried chick peas thoroughly in water and rinse
Place in a large container, cover with water three times the volume of dried peas, as soaked peas absorbs the water. Uncovered peas will not absorb water. Cover container with a lid and place in the fridge for at least 12 hours
Change water at least halfway through soaking
When chick peas have doubled in size, they are now soaked and have absorbed the water. Rinse in clean water, drain in a sieve or dry with kitchen towel to remove excess water, peas are now ready to use
Cooking a curry or stew, the chick peas will need to be cooked until soft depending on individuals preference
