Ba Kom spelling is entirely phonetic. If you know the spelling of a word, then you can pronounce it, and if you know how to pronounce a word, then you can spell it.
Ba Kom can be written in almost any writing-system, as long as all the sounds are represented. Every letter in every script has a direct equivalent in every other script: for instance, the Latin alphabet letter ng corresponds to Cyrillic ң, Arabic ڠ, and Devanagari ङ.
