Get Involved!

Working together we can get better policy and development outcomes!

Here are some ways you can help:

Join us at a meeting. Join the efforts of Baker Street Community Group along with your neighbors at the Ballard Public Library. Check the home page for upcoming meetings. We will review the Mandatory Housing (HALA) environmental study and discuss options for responding.

Educate yourself. Learn more about specific building projects on the Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections (SDCI) "In Your Neighborhood" portal. You can also attend a free "coaching" session from a land use planner to learn more or discuss your concerns. See real-time availability for a session at this link. Going in pairs helps reserve more time with the planner. If you go, tell us what you learn at bakerstreetdevelopment@gmail.com!

Spread the word. Tell your neighbors, friends, and movers and shakers! Encourage them to get involved too!

Contribute. Baker Street Community Group has joined with 26 other neighborhood organizations to appeal the City's Environmental Impact Statement regarding MHA upzones. To make a financial contribution, you can write a check out to Baker Street Community Group and give it to a Banner Bank (Ballard location at 2237 NW 57th St). You can also donate at our GoFundMe page at this link: https://www.gofundme.com/help-save-reasonable-ballard-zoning.

Submit comments. Public comments can also be submitted to prc@seattle.gov, or you can also contact our local representative, Mike O'Brien, at mike.obrien@seattle.gov. See the "Talking Points" page for ideas and recommendations on how to submit comments.

If you have questions or would like to get involved, contact us at bakerstreetdevelopment@gmail.com.
