I am a Physics Education student from the 2021 cohort at Universitas Sebelas Maret with a strong passion for education, research, and technology. I have completed the SEA-Teacher program at NEUST San Isidro, Philippines, which enhanced my expertise in international teaching practices. My experience includes volunteering as an Arduino Uno instructor and conducting research on Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) technology using Reversible Solid Oxide Cells (RSOC) to support the green industry. Additionally, I am actively involved in a Student Creativity Program (PKM) project titled E-Smart Hub, focusing on integrating Triboelectric Nanogenerators for waste management and sustainable urban development. My dedication to education and community empowerment is further demonstrated through my role as a judge in an essay competition on Society 5.0 and my efforts in organizing large family gatherings to strengthen familial bonds.
The SEA-Teacher Project, also known as the Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia, is an initiative designed to revitalize teacher education in the region as part of Southeast Asia's commitment to achieving high-quality education. This project aligns with the SEAMEO Seven Priority Areas, a framework established by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) to foster collaboration among its eleven member countries. One of these priority areas, “Revitalizing Teacher Education,” emphasizes enhancing the capacity and quality of educators across the region.
The SEA-Teacher Project provides pre-service student teachers with the opportunity to engage in cross-cultural teaching practicums. This exchange program allows university students in teacher education programs to conduct practical teaching assignments in schools located in other Southeast Asian countries. By doing so, the project not only strengthens their professional competencies but also promotes a deeper understanding of diverse educational systems, cultures, and pedagogical practices.
Through the SEA-Teacher Project, participating student teachers can:
Gain international teaching experience, fostering adaptability in diverse classroom settings.
Develop intercultural competence by engaging with students, teachers, and communities from different cultural backgrounds.
Enhance teaching skills through exposure to varied educational methodologies and school environments.
Build professional networks, which contribute to regional collaboration in the education sector.
Ultimately, this initiative supports the broader goal of equipping Southeast Asia’s future educators with the skills and experiences necessary to address the challenges of the 21st century, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of education systems in the region.
