Our Dream. Linda and I, two homeschooling moms, wanted to offer courses that solved some of the shortcomings of homeschool high school courses. After teaching in a co-op for many years we understood that some students need in-person, hands-on learning not taught by their own parent or an online instructor. Structure, organization, and predictability were also important demands for many families. Finally, we wanted to offer courses that could confidently be placed on a high school transcript because of their content and rigor.
How our teaching adventure started. We taught at a homeschool co-op for many years while our kids were students there. When Covid closed the co-op, Linda and I carried out our dream to offer quality science courses to the larger homeschool community. Our sons needed biology labs and a full chemistry course at that time, so we launched those two courses at a local shelter. We were blessed to be joined by enough students to make our outdoor classroom a vibrant and much needed experience for everyone.
After two summers outdoors, we moved our classroom into the lower level of my home which my husband graciously turned into a functional classroom. We had a wonderful summer teaching the biology lab intensive. But our time together was cut short as Linda was diagnosed with cancer that summer. My beautiful friend recently passed away and is now in the arms of Jesus.
I continue Linda's dream and passion by teaching biology and chemistry.
