abAutomations, operated by Robert Andrew Bennett, ("we," "us," "our") provides Backline, a missed-call and customer communication automation service for small service businesses ("Business Clients"). This policy explains how we handle information belonging to Business Clients' customers ("End Users") who interact with a Backline-enabled phone number.
When an End User calls or texts a Backline-enabled phone number, we collect:
The End User's phone number
The content of text messages exchanged with the Backline-enabled number
Basic call metadata (time, date, and whether the call was answered)
We do not collect names, addresses, payment information, or any other personal details unless the End User voluntarily includes them in a text message.
Information collected is used solely to:
Send an automated text response when a call to a Business Client goes unanswered
Relay End User replies to the relevant Business Client
Send review requests after a completed service visit, on behalf of the Business Client
Send occasional service reminders on behalf of the Business Client
We do not sell, rent, or share End User phone numbers or message content with any third party for marketing purposes.
Message data is shared only with:
The specific Business Client the End User contacted (so they can respond to and fulfill the service request)
Our infrastructure providers (Twilio, for message delivery, and our workflow automation platform) strictly as needed to operate the service
Message and call data is retained only as long as necessary to provide the service to the relevant Business Client, and is not retained indefinitely for unrelated purposes.
End Users may reply STOP at any time to a Backline-enabled number to opt out of receiving further automated messages. Replying HELP will provide assistance contact information.
