BIPOC Application
Applications are closed. Stay tuned for the next round!
What type of financial support is available?
Applicants can apply for festival tickets to our partnered events +/- travel support (travel stipends are currently VERY limited)
Application process
A team of BIPOC reviewers created the principles and decision-making algorithms for the selection process
All submissions will be de-identified (names removed during the selection process so the application will be anonymous to the reviewers)
Each applicant can rank-order the festivals they want to attend from our list of partnered festivals
BACCES will make every effort to match applicants with their preferred festivals, and if we have more applicants than tickets, we will rely on a lottery system to select the winners
Applications will be open for ~2 weeksÂ
BACCES plans to notify recipients by ~[date tbd] via the email supplied on the application form
BACCES will have a waitlist for each festival in case someone who is awarded can’t go. Waitlist notifications will likely go out in early June
How are decisions made?
A paid BIPOC committee has created criteria and weightings for application reviews. All applicants will be anonymous, and a lottery system will be used to award recipients based on available funds. Black and Indigenous folks will be favored in this process, and we are aiming to have a mix of new/experienced and local/traveling acrobats.
The only criteria to apply are being BIPOC and wanting to attend one of our partnered festivals. There are no merit or financial-based criteria.
