Partner Organizations

Partnerships with acro events and festivals are at the core of what we do. It's something we invest in deeply, and we take a lot of care in choosing partnerships who put inclusivity first. Below are some of our tenets and requirements for partnership.

Ways to partner:

○ Donating event tickets/program admission. Suggest 2-5% of your prior year’s attendance as a guide. Note that these can be tax-deductible under our fiscal sponsorship.

○ Including at least one paid social justice conversation during the festival/event (at least one organizer is expected to attend) either created, planned in partnership, or reviewed by BACCES.

○ Hiring BIPOC coaches, with a goal of matching the racial demographics of the city where the event is being held.

○ Posting the Acro for All poster at event

○ Including a daily meaningful land acknowledgement

Watching a ‘social justice onboarding’ presentation if you are newer to this work. Mandatory for organizers, and ideally all involved coaches will participate in this presentation. In the event that all coaches cannot attend the presentation, a recording will be made available for them to watch before the event.

○ If you are a first-time partner, attend a pre- and post-festival call to discuss and review requirements. Payment for additional purchased tickets from BACCES is dependent on participating in both of these phone calls.

○ Incorporate fundraising at your event for BACCES. This could be a percentage of ticket sales, or call-outs throughout the festival for individual contributions.

○ Most importantly - recognize that this work extends beyond the time and space of the event itself.

Additional ways to engage:

○ Social media presence - direct traffic to BACCES (@BIPOCacro), and to other community organizations that center BIPOC. Include posts about inclusion; let it be known that you are working towards accountability at your event!

○ Consider how you are spending volunteer time and money in your community and where you can directly support BIPOC organizations. Giving back to local groups that are doing work in the area where the event is being held is part of acknowledging the local impact of your event.

○ Commit to ongoing feedback with both BIPOC attendees and BACCES to create accountability, transparency in how feedback is incorporated, and ongoing critical reflection

Potential benefits of partnering with BACCES:

○ You get to have more diverse acro attendees, we call that winning!

○ Your event will be known as a place that was curated with BIPOC folks in mind

○ You get to offer opportunities for BIPOC to teach and hold leadership positions

○ You get to use your platform and privilege to create meaningful change, build impactful relationships, and re-shape the acro community

○ Our website will list all partner organizations

○ Our social media will highlight partner organizations and what actions are taken to make their spaces more inclusive

○ Your event will be shared within the BIPOC acro community and listed as an event partner for applicants to receive financial support

○ We will connect you with other event organizers for opportunities to share best practices, learnings, and ongoing efforts
