Team 9: Blok

Overview

Blok Holdings Inc. was formed to create consumer products that help minimize the harms caused by increased use of technology in our daily lives. Starting with our original product Blokbox, we aim to be the go-to provider of consumer products combating the issues technology creates, while not completely removing the technology from our lives. Blokbox was created to provide immediate disconnect from your smartphone, when it becomes a distraction to your productivity. Currently, we are seeking investors for a pre-seed investment of $100,000 to begin manufacturing of Blokbox.

The Problem

Technology, while revolutionizing the world we live in, comes with many externalities. These negative effects are often overlooked; however, as we become more mindful of the world we live in, these harms are becoming more apparent and documented. Technology presents several negative effects on humans across many fields of scientific study.

The three largest sectors in which these problems fall:

● Disconnection- Constant engagement with technology.

● Physical Health- Harmful effects of EMF radiation.

● Privacy- Personal security and capitalistic data protection.

The Solution

Our first product, Blokbox, focuses on the issue of disconnection. We have created a solution for consumers to have immediate disconnect from their smartphone when it becomes a distraction to their productivity. Our Blokbox simply requires the user to place their cell phone in the box and it becomes completely disconnected from the world. Simply by removing your cellular device from the box, you are immediately ready to begin use of the device.

● Our solution is simple to use and requires no changes to your cellular device.

● Your cellular device will not interrupt you even if the ringer is on.

● Our Blokbox is stylish and customizable for several different applications.

Keys to Success

For Blok Holdings Inc. and Blokbox to be successful, we need to raise capital to begin producing sample products, find a product manufacturer to produce our product, and begin gathering support from reputable experts in the field of cellular technology health.

● Our go-to market strategy focuses on working professionals and is supported by the emerging remote working environment. Our research has found that newly remote workers are increasingly disrupted by their mobile device while trying to accomplish work than while working in an office setting.

● Health concerns surrounding 5G technology are increasing traction on cell phone related health issues.

● Our current competitors do not have products placed in the markets we wish to capture nor products like our Blokbox.

● We wish to raise $100,000 to begin manufacturing our product and creating targeted advertisements.
