Taqs ("the App") is developed and provided by Ba9i (Abdelbaki Houche) as a free service offered "AS IS."

The App does not require account creation, user registration, or the submission of any personal identity information.

1. Data Collection and Use

We collect the minimum necessary data strictly to provide weather metrics and safety risk indices:

Location Data:

- Foreground Location: Precise and approximate location is used to display local weather metrics and calculate risk indices (wildfire, heatwave, drought, extreme cold).

- Background Location (Geofencing): If explicitly enabled by the user in settings, the App accesses your location in the background-even when the App is closed or not in use-solely to trigger automated Geofencing safety alerts when entering high-risk environmental zones.

- Privacy Guarantee: Coordinates are sent anonymously to third-party weather API providers and are never linked to your identity, stored on our servers, or used for advertising/tracking purposes.

Diagnostics (Firebase Crashlytics): We collect anonymous crash logs, performance metrics, and a non-persistent Firebase Installation ID strictly to identify system bugs and improve overall app stability.

Data We Do NOT Collect: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, photos, financial information, or persistent advertising identifiers (GAID).

2. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or lease user data. Limited, non-identifying data is shared exclusively with necessary infrastructure providers:

Weather API Providers: Receives anonymous geographic coordinates strictly to retrieve localized weather conditions and forecasts.
Firebase Crashlytics (Google): Receives anonymized technical crash logs and installation IDs to monitor app performance.

3. Data Control, Storage, and Retention

Local-Only Storage: User preferences (language, dark/light theme, manually selected provinces) and the offline Safety Guide are stored exclusively on your device's local storage.
Data Deletion: Uninstalling the App immediately and permanently removes all locally stored preferences, settings, and cached weather data. Anonymized crash diagnostics stored by Firebase automatically expire according to standard policies (up to 90 days).

4. Disclaimers and Safety

Independent Tool: Taqs is an independent public-awareness application. It is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or representative of any government agency, national meteorological institute, or official state emergency service.
Estimated Risk Indices: Calculated risk indices are automated estimates intended for guidance and awareness only. They do not replace official civil protection warnings, state emergency advisories, or evacuation orders.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take immediate corrective action.

6. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The "Last Updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page regularly to stay informed.
