Performance Feedback
I really enjoyed the two sketches with different interpretation from the actors and take on the scene. It kept my attention and interest throughout. It has left me needing more though, I need to know what happened next… I also watched the pantomime at Christmas for entry level and some of the same drama students were involved in that. They have matured in their acting skills and performance in very different performances. This was a serious and complicated script of a famous play requiring accents, and the pantomime needed a different set of skills to come across fun, entertaining and engaging to get the audience to believe and participate. The students seem to be growing in their skills as actors and adapting to all kinds of performance each time I watch them.
Really loved all of extracts that was performed from the drama class that was doing the performance. Hope my photography teacher (Mike Slater) can get a green light to get more drama performance shoots done in the future. I really loved how quiet and muted the atmosphere was during the performance..
After our performance, we watched the recordings and received feedback from the other group. Here are the strengths and weaknesses identified:
Strengths:
- At 3:40, Georgia's stress was palpable.
- Georgia's use of emotional recall was evident.
- Maggies focus was consistently on Brick.
- I demonstrated ditance and detachment through Given Circumstance.
- The door slam was executed perfectly.
- Although Beth forgot a line, it was covered smoothly, making it unnoticeable to those unfamiliar with the play.
- Maggies tone of voice conveyed clear attitude towards Mae and Gooper.
- I effectively portrayed a broken foot.
- Georgia's crying was convincing.
Weaknesses:
- I bent my leg, breaking the immersion that my leg was supposed to be broken.
- Act One had poor projection.
- Act One also lacked noticeable heat reactions.
- Alfred showed no emotions towards Big Daddy.
