It’s been over 10 years since I began my journey with ASCLS as a student in the ASU Clinical Laboratory Science program. The friendships, mentoring, networking, and opportunities to advocate for our profession I have gained as a result of my membership and participation in this organization have shaped my personal and professional life in profound ways. I am very proud to be able to take on my new role as your state president, and look forward to meeting you soon at one of our events around the state.

I have been a Medical Technologist (old name for CLS) for more than 35 years. I have worked as a generalist for my entire career and have been on third shift that entire time. I enjoy my time off by traveling, reading, and just enjoying life!

Hey Everyone, I am your new professional/ new member I graduated the MLT program in November 2016 and was chosen to help open a new lab. I have been accepted to South Dakota state to obtain my MT certification to understand more about my field. I am an extroverted person and enjoy learning new things and meeting new people.

I have been a member of ASCLS since I was a student at the VA Medical Center in Tucson. I am now a specialist in the Chemistry Department and love learning new things and teaching new students. I have held the role of Student Forum Representative, New Member/New Professional Representative, and now Board member. I have attended several national meetings and love the learning opportunities as well as the networking with fellow laboratory professionals. I am currently in the national ASCLS Leadership Academy, set to graduate next July at the annual meeting.

I have been an active member of ASCLS since a student, serving as the Region IX student rep, then later as the state president for Alaska, and even later served three years on the ASCLS Board of Directors as the Region IX Director. I have served on multiple state and national committees, and chaired two state meetings while in Alaska. I accepted a job as a lab manager in Las Vegas, NV in June of 2017 and drove across the continent to begin a new adventure. I am excited to get to know my new home and my new laboratory community, and I look forward to learning what I can contribute to make our constituent society flourish and grow.
