Born on November 1, 1960, in Ogden, Utah. Moved to Calgary, Alberta Canada when his father accepted a teaching position at the University of Calgary.
Two-time Olympian for the Canadian Men's Basketball Team (1984 and 1988 Olympics). Olympic record holder for the most three-point field goals in a single game (10) and half (8). Tilleman's national team coach and FIBA Hall of Fame inductee Jack Donohue described Tilleman as "the best three-point shooter in the world."
In between Olympic performances, Tilleman served as a full-time missionary in the California Arcadia Mission (Spanish speaking). Served as a bishop and stake president in Phoenix, Arizona. Mission President in the Canada Vancouver Mission from July of 2011 to July of 2014. Served as an Area Seventy from April 2015 to October 2020.
While serving as mission president, he was attacked by a bull mastiff dog, suffering a tear in the center of his spinal cord leaving him paralyzed from the neck down. He fought to overcome that paralyzing and potentially life-threatening injury to complete his three-year term as mission president.
Married his sweetheart, Holly in 1986.
