SBlock/JBlock licensing options:
An example of the end-user license agreement that appears when software is installed can be seen here. Licensing is managed using an internet-based service located in London, UK (Copyminder.com). Users need to have occasional internet access to verify their licenses.
Standalone licenses
A standalone license can be used only on one PC/laptop at a time. It is transferable between different computers provided switching between computers occurs no more than once in 7 to14 days. An internet connection is required when installing the software on a computer. Occasional internet access, about once a week, is required to verify that the license is only being used on one PC at a time. Users can work up to 10 days without accessing the internet. This is useful for offsite work.
Network Licenses
Network licenses allow multiple users to access the software through their Company network. However, the number of simultaneous users is limited to the number of licenses purchased. A small license server program is installed on the Company network server. Only the Company network server needs internet access to verify the licenses from time to time. The users must be connected to the Company network to access a license to run the software on their local PC/Laptop. The JBlock/SBlock software is installed on the local PC/Laptop and the Company network is only accessed to check the availability of a license.
Duration of License
Perpetual licenses do not expire. The licenses do not include any future updates. Updates can be purchased as they become available.
Annual lease licenses are renewed annually and include any updates that may be provided during the lease period.
