About Me
From Courtrooms to Communities: Marketing Africa's Digital Economy
I didn't set out to become a marketer. I set out to become a lawyer.
But somewhere between studying Common Law at the University of Ilorin and discovering the emerging world of cryptocurrency iduring covid-19, I realized something: the future wasn't only going to be argued in courtrooms, it was being built in communities, coded into protocols, and communicated through stories that most people didn't yet understand.
So I made a choice. I traded legal briefs for marketing briefs, and I haven't looked back(Yet).
The Journey
My entry into building a career in Web3 came at a pivotal moment. After a couple internships with web3 startups, In July 2021, I joined FTX as part of the Content team for Africa before being promoted as the team lead, we were tasked with translating a complex global product into something that resonated with Nigerian, South African, and Ghanaian audiences. Within over a year, we helped scale trading volumes from $5M to $500M in Nigeria alone. We didn't just run ads, we ran university roadshows, converted students into verified users, and built trust in markets where skepticism was the default setting.
When FTX collapsed in 2022, I learned one of the most valuable lessons of my career: infrastructure fails, but community endures. The relationships we built, the education we provided, and the trust we earned didn't disappear. It transformed how I approach marketing, not as a transaction, but as a long-term relationship built on clarity, consistency, and authenticity.
Since then, I've channeled that philosophy into every role I've held:
At Biokript, I scaled a Shariah-compliant DeFi platform from 3,000 to 48,000+ Twitter followers in nine months and helped raise over $300,000 during their presale. I learned that compliance and creativity aren't opposites, they're collaborators.
At TawkCrypto, I've directed content strategy across 1,000+ published articles, built a podcast featuring Africa's leading Web3 founders, and grown a digital presence from zero to thousands across X, Instagram, and Telegram. I discovered that consistency beats virality every single time.
At Bankii Finance, I'm currently leading end-to-end marketing and growth strategy, from brand positioning to product launches. In just five months, we've driven 420% community growth and improved engagement rates by 65%. I've learned that great marketing doesn't shout louder; it listens closer.
Beyond the Day Job
When I'm not scaling communities or writing content strategies, you'll find me:
Hosting podcasts with Web3 founders and ecosystem leaders
Speaking at industry events and contributing to the conversation around Africa's digital economy
Mentoring young marketers navigating the chaos and opportunity of Web3
Researching the intersection of culture, technology, and trust in emerging markets
I'm also a relentless student. The digital economy moves fast, and staying relevant means staying curious. I read obsessively, test constantly, and adapt quickly.
