Effective Date: 13 August 2026
AYNN is a faith and wealth companion. This Privacy Policy explains what we store, where it is kept, and what you can do about it.
You can use almost all of AYNN without creating an account.
Your data stays on your device. We do not receive it and it is not stored on our servers.
You can use AYNN this way indefinitely.
If you sign in with Google or with an email address, we create an account so your data can move between your devices.
Signing in gives us your email address and a unique account identifier issued by Google Firebase Authentication.
The following information never leaves your phone and is never sent to us:
Your approximate location, used for prayer times and the Qibla direction
Calculated prayer times and their caches
Your notification history and notification settings
Your Wake for Fajr record — your streak, the mornings you marked as prayed, and your alarm sound
Everything belonging to a guest profile
Your Wake for Fajr record stays on the device by design. Signing in or out does not change it, and it is not stored on our servers.
If you are signed in, the following information is saved to a private area of our cloud so it is available on your other devices:
Your email address and account identifier
Your investment portfolio in Amanah
The figures you enter into the Zakat and Purification calculators
Your Qur'an reading position and bookmarks
Your Wird progress, including the evening reflection you choose and any note you write with it
Your lifetime Tasbih totals
Your prayer settings, such as calculation method and city
Your Fajr alarm settings, such as the alarm time and mode
Reflection notes are personal writing. They are stored so that your Wird history is complete on every device you sign in on, and they are readable only by your account. If you would rather they never left your phone, you can use AYNN as a guest.
This information is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore) in an area that only your account can read or write.
Other people using AYNN cannot access it.
Amanah and the Zakat and Purification calculators work from figures you enter yourself.
AYNN does not connect to your bank, broker, or any financial institution.
We cannot see your real balances, holdings, or transactions, and we never ask for banking credentials.
AYNN is a calculation and record-keeping tool. It does not provide financial, investment, or tax advice and does not manage money on your behalf.
With your permission, AYNN uses your approximate location to determine your city for prayer times and the Qibla direction.
Your location is not stored on our servers.
To calculate prayer times, AYNN sends the name of your city — not your exact coordinates — to AlAdhan, a public prayer-times service.
Nothing identifying you is sent with it.
You can refuse the location permission and set your city manually instead.
A record of the notifications AYNN has sent is kept on your device only.
This allows the app to show previous notifications and avoid sending too many.
This record is never uploaded to our servers.
You can control notification preferences or turn them off entirely from Settings.
If you tap Submit your question, AYNN opens a form in your web browser.
Anything you enter there is submitted outside the app and handled by the form provider under its own privacy terms.
We use it only to answer questions and to improve the help content inside AYNN.
Please do not include confidential or sensitive information in a submitted question.
We keep the information listed above for as long as your account exists, because its purpose is to be there when you sign in on another device.
When you delete your account, the data stored against it is deleted at the same time. It is not retained afterwards and it is not archived.
Information held only on your device lasts as long as the app is installed and is removed when you uninstall it.
We do not:
Sell your data
Share your data with advertisers or data brokers
Use analytics or tracking software of any kind
Collect crash reports
Show advertising
Open your profile and choose Delete Account.
This deletes the data stored against your account in our cloud — your portfolio, Zakat entries, reading position, bookmarks, Wird and Tasbih progress, and your settings — and then deletes the account itself.
Signing out removes that account's data from the device you are using.
Your data remains in your private cloud area and returns when you sign in again.
If you use AYNN as a guest, uninstalling the app removes your data because it was only ever stored on your device.
For any other request, email team.aynn@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
Access your data
Correct your data
Export your data
Delete your data
Object to how your data is used
Most of these actions are available directly within the app.
For anything else, email team.aynn@gmail.com.
AYNN is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please email team.aynn@gmail.com and we will delete it.
AYNN uses Google Firebase for sign-in and cloud storage, and Google Play Integrity to confirm that requests come from a genuine, unmodified copy of the app.
AYNN also fetches content from public services:
AlAdhan — Prayer times
Gold-API — Precious metal prices
ExchangeRate-API — Currency exchange rates
These requests carry no account information and nothing that personally identifies you.
The Qur'an is not fetched from the internet.
Its Arabic text and translation are included in the app itself, so reading scripture sends no request anywhere.
