Courses

Spring 2024

CHEM 232: Sophomore-level Organic Chemistry for Undergraduate Students...this is a foundational Organic Chemistry Course that is required for most undergraduate students. In addition to learning atomic and molecular orbital theories, students learn bonding patterns, molecular structures, functional groups, reactions, mechanisms, acids-bases reactions, etc.

Fall 2023

CHEM 539–Special Topic in Organic Chemistry: Organic Photochemical Reactions: This interdisciplinary course covers various organic chemistry reactions initiated by light. Students enrolled in this course will learn basic and advanced concepts of organic photochemistry as well as tools that can be used to decipher reaction mechanisms and identify reactive intermediates. Additionally, the course covers mechanisms and synthetic tactics and their practical applications in synthetic chemistry and natural product synthesis.
