Game Formats (D&D)

AyerCon is a gaming convention run by Ayer Cub Scout Pack 32, and as such, is focused on the teaching and growth of our next generation of children into fine, well rounded adults. We understand that teaching a narrative or numbers-based game to children is somewhat different than teaching to adults, which is why we have a Beginner's session for Kids and a separate session for Adults. This does not preclude you from registering yourself for a kid's beginner session as gaming with children can be a wonderfully creative and eye opening experience.

Beginner games are for people who have never or only played a handful of times. This formal will teach the game mechanics to new players by experienced Dungeon Masters. These adventures will feature some roleplaying, exploration and a healthy amount of combat.

Experienced games are for people who have played enough to know how skills, saves and combat work. All players will start at 5th level and will be required to quickly pick up their character, understand what the character can do, then hit the ground running.

Based on attendance, we may require that children and adults play together in the beginner game. Attendance may also dictate that we are able to run separate kids and adults experienced games.

The following games can be available to play. We will have staff on hand that can teach you how to play or, if there is enough staff, they can play with you!
