Malliouhana Fest aims to:

Promote direct interaction between creatives and the public. This is key to promoting an understanding and appreciation of Anguilla’s cultural and artistic sector; fostering national pride; and supporting the creative atmosphere that is lived, fashioned and expressed throughout the island.

Educate the population about frequently ignored aspects of our culture, history, heritage and artistic scenes through participation and engagement, thus offering an authentic experience to residents and visitors alike, through numerous planned activities.

An art walk can educate, facilitate new connections, and foster new relationships and opportunities. For the Creatives themselves, Leh We Roam is not just about showcasing recent work, but about building community and mutual artist support.

Leh We Roam is the newest creative event in Anguilla showcasing local Creatives of numerous art forms during Malliouhana Fest. The vision behind this art walk is multifold; it is a way of providing our Creatives with an avenue to showcase their talents, works, and/or creations, while promoting their businesses to Anguillians, residents and visitors. It may be said that music and fine arts are the artistic expressions most recognised on Anguilla; this event allows persons to see through a visual representation, that art is a broad term and an ever-growing industry, and new forms and variations of art are constantly developing. This event is one way we intend to develop Anguilla’s Orange Economy (Creative Economy).

Leh We Roam 2021 will be held at the Rodney MacArthur Rey Auditorium from 6:30pm to 11 pm on Saturday, 27th November 2021. There will also be an open mic option where performing Creatives will have an opportunity to showcase their talents on the stage.

The purpose of Culture on the Road is for the Department of Youth and Culture to show their support for the preservation, enhancement, promotion and development of Culture & Arts in Anguilla - you guessed it - on the road. Culture on the Road aims to increase Cultural awareness and provide information about bit and pieces of Anguilla’s culture, history, and traditions.

You are sure to see the DYC’s float across the island this year, the road show will make 5 - 6 stops to discuss, and quiz lucky bystanders about things culturally and historically relevant. The event will include small giveaways from generous sponsors to persons present. It is the department’s hope that such an initiative will foster and promote community spirit, cultural awareness and national pride.

The 2021 Culture on the Road show will start at the Anguilla Tourist Board at 9:30am on Friday, 3rd December 2021 following a brief opening ceremony. With each stop along the way you will be entertained by some of our own local talent. Culture on the Road will wind down at the Valley Food Court (The Strip) at approximately 5:30pm with snippets by the day’s entertainers performing songs that are sure to engender a feeling of national pride.

The float will be decorated and branded “Culture on the Road”, so look for DYC in your neighborhood! The event will also be broadcast live on In Anguilla and DYC’s Facebook pages.

Several cultural and artistic ambassadors will join the float at different stops to entertain and provide key historical information to the listening public.

The 2021 roadshow will be hosted by Farrah Banks.
