Welcome!
The mission of the American Wirehaired Pointing Griffon Association Rescue is to rescue purebred Wirehaired Pointing Griffons and place them in forever homes where they can thrive.
Griffons come to us for many reasons:
A sudden realization that the Griffon needs more activity and attention
A lifestyle change
An allergy has developed with a family member
The griffon was found as a stray or at a public or private shelter
Rescues are special because all have been through a lot of trauma and need the same amount of attention as a new puppy. Sometimes it takes several months for the Rescue to adjust to the new environment. Rescues are not like "started dogs" and require a great deal of patience.
The fee to adopt from AWPGA Rescue is $130.00 plus any additional costs such as medical or travel costs. Rescues by law must be neutered or spayed prior to placement. AWPGA Rescue does not provide transportation .
In order to adopt one of our Rescues we must have a current application on file. You will be notified if a dog becomes available that fits your family and their lifestyle. Be sure and give us detailed information about dogs you have or continue to own, experience with prior Rescues, and activities you and your new pet will be able to experience.
Thank you for your interest in AWPGA Rescue, the National AKC Breed Rescue for Wirehaired Pointing Griffons.
