Annual Events:
Flat Ski Day
The AWG Utah Chapter will host our cross-country ski event, "Flat Ski Day" at White Pine Touring Nordic Center in Park City, UT. The recommended donation is $10. All adults are welcome; rentals and basic instruction will be available. Children who own their gear are welcome, but unfortunately we don't have the resources available to offer lessons or rentals to kids under age 14. Don't want to try cross-country skiing, but want to say hi? Stop by the Nordic Center from 4-5PM to join us for light refreshments.

Scholarship Awards Potluck Picnic
We are happy to honor scholarship awardees at our annual June potluck picnic in Canyon Rim Park. The event includes BBQ, delicious homemade treats, lawn games, and socializing with geoscientists and geoscience fans. Stay tuned for more details. All ages, genders, members, and guests are welcome!
Science Fair
The AWG Utah Chapter is an ardent supporter of young women and girls with interests in the geosciences. As part of our mission, AWG Utah annually awards the Student Awards for Geoscience Excellence (SAGE) Certificate for the best geoscience project submitted by a female student at the University of Utah Science and Engineering Fair. We believe the SAGE award, which includes a cash prize, encourages school-age girls to consider a career in the geosciences, provides positive reinforcement for their courage in entering local science fairs, and rewards them for excellence in choosing and implementing their projects. In addition, we ask professional women in the geosciences to serve as judges, giving them the opportunity to enhance their professional growth and advancement in the geosciences by serving as role models to young girls considering earth science as a career option.
Watch here for more details about the upcoming USEF events. If you are interested in serving as a judge please Contact Us. If you would like to donate to support AWG Utah's support of female student science fair participants at USEF, please visit the Donate page.
