Welcome Sparkies new and returning! Parents, each night has four sections which are outlined in order below.
Make sure to check out our SPARKS THEME SONG here! We would love your child to memorize the song and examine and understand the words with us!
Opening Rally (1): We recite the pledge to the American Flag. We sing the AWANA song together and pray over our night.
Small Group (2): WELCOME to our small group leaders this year: Ms. Jennafer (K), Ms. Sarah (K), Ms. Ashley (1st), Ms. Connie (1st), Ms. Melissa (1st), Ms. Jenia (2nd), and Ms. Baili (2nd)
During small group the leaders review hand books and memory verses. This a beautiful time for more individual attention and discipleship. We want each child to understand the memory verse they are reciting. We will be encouraging them to locate their memory verses in their Bibles. Each child earns points for bringing their Bible.
Handbook Information:
All Sparkies work through the Flight 3:16 booklet first at the begining of each year. This is foundational to understanding God's love for us and who Jesus is. This booklet does include a memory verse, a question section and 2 days of attendance to pass. No rank is achieved here but they graduate to their book and are given their vests, if purchased.
The hand book progression is as follows:
The Green book called the HangGlider will be used in Kindergarden.
The Blue book called the WingRunner will be used in the 1st Grade.
The Red book is called SkyStormer and will be used in 2nd Grade.
We are trying something new this year. Students will move together through their books as a small group.
For Wednesday September 2nd Your sparky should be reading and Memorizing:
Kinder - Rank 1 & 2 pgs. 4 & 5 in their HangGlider Book
1st Graders - Rank 2 pgs. 4 & 5 in thier Wing Runner Book
2nd Graders - Rank 2 pgs. 4 & 5 in their Sky Stormer Book
REMINDERS: Children must bring their books. It helps our listeners and leaders from week to week. Life happens and we will have loaners if needed.
Memorization TIPS: If your child is an auditory learner or you want to use music to help learn and reinforce our weekly lessons and their memory verses check out the whole playlist: HangGlider Playlist, and Wing Runner Playlist
Recreation (3): is game time where the famous AWANA square is utilized for Sparks to participate in individual and team games like beanbag relay or Sparkie Train. Sparkies love the occassional Trivia nights!
Large Group (4): This week, Wednesday September 2nd, we will learn that God is Mighty in Power and Able To Save. (Psalm 147:5)
We will be discovering what S.P.A.R.K.S. stand for in the coming weeks! This week we will discover what P stands for.
Each week we will have children search for their scriptures in their Bibles. We get VERY excited about God's Word and finding out what it says!
