Hi Cubbies Families!

We hope you enjoyed the trunk or treat!

Wednesday 11/4 is Polka Dots & Stripes Dress-up Night. We will be working on Bear Hug 8 (BH8), Jeremiah 10:10 - ...The Lord is the true God; He is the living God, the eternal King... (short version is in bold.)

BH8 is the 2nd of four lessons in Unit 2: God is the One True God. We will learn that the Israelites saw that God was more powerful than the idol Baal at Mount Carmel and that we should only worship the one true God, not idols.

BH8 can be found on pages 34-37 in the Honeycomb Handbook. The Cubbies bear story is on pages 34-35. The Bible lesson, verse, extra credit "Under the Apple Tree", and Review sections are found on pages 36-37. 

This week's snack:

• Edible Alters (cheese, crackers, and pretzels)

***Please let us know if your child cannot have a snack! We typically have gluten & dye-free options available.

Check-In Reminders:

• pickup name tags at the kiosks and stick it on the back of their vest

• make a restroom stop before checking in with the Cubbies Class

• sign-in between 6 & 6:15pm at the green Cubbies table by Room #9

• put the Cubbies Bag in your Cubbies' color bin (only their handbook and Bible need to be in the bag - everything else can stay at home)

For Our New Cubbies Families:

Cubbies earn points they can redeem at our Awana Store in December and May for bringing their Entrance Booklet/Honey Comb Handbook, vest, Bible, optional offering (suggested $0.50), and for participating in theme nights! 

We'll check for all of that at Cubbies sign-in at the green table by Room #9, then have Cubbies put their bag in their color bin, and we'll put their color group sticker on their name tags before they head in to join worship by 6:15pm.

Cubbies will be picked up at 7:45pm in the sanctuary. Mrs. Magen Johnson will have parents line up in both aisles at the back and will dismiss one family at a time. Cubbies will be listening for their name to be called for dismissal. They go home with an Apple Acres Entrance Booklet on their first visit and can start working on memorizing the Cubbies Key Verse (Bear Hug A) and Motto (Bear Hug B), found on the last 4 pages of the brochure and also posted on this page. Once they complete the brochure, they will receive the Honey Comb Handbook and a Cubbies bag to bring their handbook and Bible to class each week.

Cubbies work on a different verse each week, so you will receive a Cubbies Schedule (also pinned to this site) that lets you know theme nights and what Bear Hug [a.k.a. BH] we're working on each week. The corresponding verse is printed on the back side of the schedule, so Cubbies can work on the same verse we are, even if they don't have a handbook.
