Post-Ph.D.

Post-PhD Research Work is Focused on the Following Areas

1. Fabrication and Characterization of Microoptics

  • Design, fabrication and characterization of Micro-optics on various material from VIS to IR have been studied and performed using various lithographic techniques (Mask/ maskless lithography, direct laser writing systems).
  • Contributed in the development of Infrared Optical Testing Setup for optical characterization of the fabricated micro-optics at LWIR wavelength.
  • Design, fabrication and characterization of vortex phase masks (CGH) based on the PhD work are also studied and performed; these fabricated optical elements are directly applicable to various singular optics applications.

2. Coherent Combining of High Power Laser Beams

  • Designed a diffractive optical element which combines the multiple laser beams coherently to scale up the power at target plane.
  • Designed and implemented the experimental test best for coherent laser beam combining by using diffractive optical element.

A beam propagation model based on a diffractive optical element is conceptualised and demonstrated to study the coherent combining of the laser beams in free space. The effect of actual wavefront aberration on the beam combining is also examined quantitively, through the estimation of the Ensquared energy and M2 parameter.
