AVRCE POSITIVE NOISE
STUDENT ACTION GRANTS
STUDENT ACTION GRANTS
Positive Noise Student Grants empower students to make their schools healthier places.
Students from Pre-primary to grade 12 can apply for a grant of UP TO $1000 to address a need in their school by improving the school environment (improving relationships in the school, creating more welcoming spaces, etc.).
If your project idea will cost more than the maximum grant amount, please send us an email to learn about other funding options.
Positive Noise projects must benefit the whole school or a whole classroom/club/group of students!
Before you Apply:
Watch these two short videos to get you started and read the guidelines below!
Applications Must:
Be for student-identified projects! Note: Applications from adults will not be approved.
Be realistic (make sure you can actually do it before the end of the school year).
Have a detailed budget.
Have a supportive adult on board:
If a classroom teacher would like to use the Positive Noise Grant as a teaching tool, that's great! Please note that in order to ensure grant funding is available for schools across the RCE, we will fund a maximum of 4 grants per classroom.
Supportive adults can be a teacher or school staff member or an adult from the community. If you plan to do a project in your school, your supportive adult must be a school staff member.
Benefit the whole school or a whole classroom/large group of students and address a health issue (healthy eating, physical activity, healthy relationships, environmental health or healthy practices).
We Cannot Fund:
Applications for sports equipment above $350. Note: applications for sports equipment must include a social element (ex. skills mentorship). You can also connect with your principal to access School Support Grant funds for physical activity.
Multiple applications for the same project.
Fundraising initiatives (e.g. buying items for a bake sale, BUT we can cost-share to purchase items).
Stocking food/clothes pantries.
Changes to cafeteria operations (food services).
One-time school field trips or presentations.
Organized sports teams or gear (connect with your principal, School Advisory Council, etc. to discuss other funding options)
Classroom learning resources and materials (e.g. individual technology, games, toys etc. for individual program plans).
Not sure if your idea(s) fit the criteria? Please email us!
