The first thing you need to know about me is that I absolutely love video games. Ever since my mom got me my first console, the Gameboy Advance SP, and my first game, Pokémon Fire Red, when I was five years old, video games have been my passion. Sinking countless hours into these games sparked in me a desire to make them, to be a part of the creation these wonderful experiences that shaped my childhood and teen years. And when I discovered programming and its role in creating games, I knew that's exactly what I wanted to do.
I've always sought out challenges to help me grow as a person and learner. In high school, I challenged myself to take as many honors, AP, and dual enrollment classes as possible, and simultaneously challenging myself to earn an A in all of them. I took some of the hardest classes offered at my school, and because of this, I earned a 4.80 GPA, was ranked top 10 in my class of over 600 students, and was nearly selected to be a valedictorian. I also committed myself to the Computer Science pathway by taking every main CS course offered, combining with my grades to earn me the Computer Science award for the class of 2021.
For college, I didn't change from this mindset. I minored in Information and Computer Science on top of my Game Design and Interactive Media degree, and I was involved in UCI's renowned Video Game Development Club making games with other committed students on the side. Through the club and my courses, I was able to make several games with my peers, all of which I'm proud of my contributions and our accomplishments. Now that I've graduated, I'm currently searching for gameplay or AI programming positions to apply my skills and create amazing projects.
