Avelino Gonzalez-Roman is a senior at Berklee College of Music studying Film Scoring and Composition, graduating in December 2026. His work sits at the intersection of film, music, talent, and the business of entertainment, with experience spanning record labels, sync licensing, artist development, music supervision, creative strategy, and film scoring.
He has completed internships with Sony Music Latin in Miami and Sony Music Entertainment in New York. At Sony Music Latin, he worked across marketing, artist relations, release strategy, distribution, and label operations. He later joined Sony Music’s Sync Licensing team in New York, working on creative pitching, music briefs, catalog strategy, licensing, and identifying music and artists for opportunities across advertising and visual media. His time at Sony gave him experience on both the recorded-music and music-for-picture sides of the business and helped expand his interests into the broader film and television industry.
He is the founder and president of Mile One Records, an artist development company built around emerging talent. Mile One brings together a team of students and young professionals from Berklee, Harvard, Emerson, Northeastern, Babson, and other Boston institutions to work across A&R, recording, creative direction, branding, release strategy, live production, visual content, sync, and artist development. Gonzalez-Roman oversees the company’s broader strategy while working directly with artists on the creative and business decisions surrounding their careers.
He also served as Co-CEO and President of The Mix, an intercollegiate entertainment organization connecting students with professionals across music, film, media, and technology. Through The Mix, he has helped build industry programming and collaborations reaching more than 1,000 students, bringing together talent and executives through events, panels, workshops, and creative projects across Boston’s university ecosystem.
Alongside his business work, Avelino has composed for more than ten short films and a feature, while continuing to work across scoring, supervision, production, and artist development. His background as a composer and musician continues to shape the way he approaches the entertainment business: beginning with the creative work itself, understanding what makes talent distinctive, and then thinking about how that talent can be developed, positioned, and connected to the right opportunities.
His long-term ambition is to work at the highest levels of the film and television business, building careers, connecting talent with material, and helping shape projects from their earliest creative stages through execution. Whether through representation, development, music, or entrepreneurship, his central interest remains the same: identifying exceptional people and ideas and helping turn them into something larger.
