"Failure isn't an option if success is just a matter of more effort" - W. Bruce Cameron
Hello! I'm Ava Kinyon. I am currently a junior attending Dominican University of California with a major in Nursing. Being here at Dominican University allows me to reach my goals of completing my Bachelor's Degree in the Science of Nursing, while discovering an education within my passion of care and providing support. The small classroom setting that Dominican provides, allows me to form meaningful connections with my professors and gain an enriching understanding of the content in my courses.
I enjoy traveling to different destinations in nature as it allows me to relax. Listening to the waves or seeing the strong trees brings my body back to a calm state and allows me to remember my own strength. As I look at the ocean and the trees that were here long before me, and will be here long after me, I am reminded how small my worries truly are in the scheme of the world.
As I travel, my curiosity for new experiences is unleashed. Some of the new activities I have tried are hiking in luscious and green forests, outdoor rock climbing on treacherous and steep surfaces, and kayaking in waters with strong currents.
The unconditional love and support I receive from my family has encouraged me to achieve all of my goals and pursue a career in Nursing. My mother always taught me that people matter and I will carry that important message with me as I treat my patients daily.
The friendships I have made here at Dominican have allowed me to thrive academically by forming study groups as well as create a more balanced college experience by exploring new areas and making memories that will last a lifetime.
