Each December, volunteers choose four charities to receive a contribution from the AMIA. Representatives from these charities are invited to attend our annual holiday party where they are presented with a donation.
Committees are formed on an as-needed basis to address community related issues and concerns.
The AMIA has been working with local officials to help address some of the safety concerns that surround the entrance to Avalon Manor and our community. Our Safety Committee has been making great strides towards addressing some of the concerns residents have brought forward. To date, rumble strips and lane warning markings have been placed near the intersection. The latest improvement has been the installation of a new radar actuator warning sign that sits on the east side of Leonards Bridge. According to officials, residents of the Manor can expect another radar actuator on the west side of the bridge to help with speeding issues.
Our Safety Committee is committed to finding solutions to the ongoing safety issues and will continue to work diligently with the hopes of having a traffic light installed at this intersection. If you would like to join the ongoing efforts of our Safety Committee or have a concern relating to our community, please contact Connie Kindler at ckindler@comcast.com

Volunteers are responsible for the up-keep of the Manor House which serves as the hub for all monthly meetings, committee meetings, pancake breakfast and social events. Some items have been donated throughout the years, but almost all of the work has been done by volunteers, at no cost to the AMIA.
Some recent enhancements include newly painted walls, new artwork (donated by a member), new ceilings, newly renovated bathrooms, updated kitchen cabinets and hardware, newly installed interior doors, new support piers, electrical upgrades, new windows, landscaping and a community library.
Items on the agenda for this year include a kitchen sanitizer, new ceiling in the main room, ceiling fans, new tables, additional window installments, heating and cooling upgrades, new door locks and additional landscaping.
