About us

Avalard Publishing in an independent small press operating out of Northern Ireland, and the literary arm of Avalard Productions Ltd. We specialise in literary archaeology - bringing forogotten and lost books back into print.  The first Avalard titles were released in 2012.

Avalard has particular interest in books related to film, the arts, and historic titles relating to Northern Ireland.

Our books are distributed throughout the world.

Submissions

We have an open submissions policy at Avalard Publishing, but please note we are not actively looking for new titles.

We occasionally publish short form fiction in anthologies - open calls for these will be published on the website and our social media. Please pay attention to any advertised dates.

We seldom consider books that don't have an arts, historical, or Northern Ireland connection. 

We prefer completed manuscripts, but in the first instance you should contact us with a short cover letter outlining your idea and a sample of your writing. 

We do not publish material that has been written by AI.

There is no charge to submit a manuscript to Avalard Publishing, or to publish with us in the event we take your book on. 

Services

While not every book is suitable for the current Avalard stable, Avalard also offers independent editorial consultation services and publishing advice,  We want your manuscript to be the best it can be. 

We can help you with your own self-published  and corporate projects, talking you through logistics to make the most of your book, offering design and proof-reading services, and via our Avalard Productions arm we can also produce audiobook narration services.

We charge on a bespoke basis for these services.
