Hi, my name is Ava Lacey and I'm currently a senior at Tupelo High School. I've been a staff member of the broadcast journalism program, WTHS, since my sophomore year. My time in WTHS has allowed me to gain a greater understanding of journalism than I could have ever thought possible in a high school setting.
This year, my teacher has pushed and encouraged me to tackle harder news stories. These hard news stories have been challenging, but they have also allowed me to grow exponentially in my reporting skills. As I look back on all the years spent in WTHS, I am amazed at how much I, and the program as a whole, have improved.
I look forward to pursuing broadcast journalism in college, and eventually as a career. I am confident that the skills and lessons I have learned as a staff member of WTHS have prepared me for college, and a career. Every day I am grateful for the wonderful and hardworking staff I'm surrounded by, and am beyond thankful to have the super experienced Mrs. Berry-Ivy as my teacher.
