Hello, my name is Ava Guevara. Something that interests me the most is Aerospace Engineering. What prompted me to enter this field is that I love space and anything related to aircraft. Space is so beautiful and has so much to it. Also the amount of available opportunities you have to work in this field. I decided this career was right for me when I saw all of the rocket launches and the behind the scenes of the engineering involved with space and aircraft. I was also in love with math so what are those two combined Aerospace Engineering.
The classes I’ve taken to help me in achieving my career goal would be Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre Calc, Biology, Chemistry (all honors), Engineering 1, AP Calc AB, and AP Physics. I'm also enrolled in and currently taking multiple AP classes that will also help me in achieving my career goal. The programs I’ve taken to assist in obtaining my dream would be the Tech Center Program I'm currently enrolled in. What I’ve learned so far to help me would be the math skills and writing skills from the classes. I’ve gotten hands-on experience in engineering 1 with building structures and through my tech center class have had the opportunity to gain many certifications to help me with my goal in engineering.
I have not participated in any extracurricular activities, but I'm currently looking for programs to teach me skills that would help me in pursuing my career goal. I have been employed at a Convenience Store as a stocker and inventory counter. The skills I have acquired at that job are learning how to be organized and the logistics of dealing with the incoming and outgoing inventory. So I needed to know how much was sold and how much was needed. That can be useful so I would know how to visualize and know how much materials would be needed for a project.
Upon graduating from high school I plan to either go to college or a trade school. Maybe even get straight into the workforce. I would go to a college or trade school to get further knowledge on aerospace engineering. Eventually becoming not only an engineer but a professional engineer (licensed). So I could be more capable of knowing exactly what I'm doing or dealing with. I might even go straight into the workforce on possibly an internship. So I can get experience and be able to improve my skills.
After achieving my career goal I would be able to affect the community by possibly discovering information that could be life changing and beneficial to people. Hopefully my discoveries could help us find more about other planets. To the point where we could possibly find ways to populate other planets. Or even help with climate change on our own planet. Either way, making a better environment for mankind.
