Autophagy Lab

Our Research is focused on understanding the process of autophagy in mammalian system. Our lab aims at elucidating membranes sources for biogenesis of autophagosomes during various stress conditions. We are trying to understand the mechanism of autophagosome formation during various forms of selective autophagy. We are interested in identifying the machinery involved in non-canonical autophagy.  We are also interested in studying the relationship between autophagy and lysosomal system and interdependence of lysosomal system on autophagy and vice versa. Apart from this, we study the role of autophagy in progression of cancer, one of our major gaols is to investigate the role of autophagy in conferring resistance to therapies.
