Getting to Eugene

To get to Eugene, participants may fly to either:

  • Eugene Airport (EUG), about 10 miles from the University of Oregon

  • Portland Airport (PDX), about a 2-hour drive from the University of Oregon

More details about getting here are available at https://www.uoregon.edu/directions.

If you fly into EUG, you will likely need to call a taxi, such as Oregon Taxi or one of the other taxis listed at the above link. Recently, Uber and Lyft have not had enough drivers in the area to be a reliable option. You can also make a reservation for the taxi in advance. The number for the hotel shuttle is 541-342-2000, but you should assume the shuttle is not available, unless you hear otherwise.

Getting from the hotel to campus

Funded participants will be housed in the Graduate Hotel, which is about a mile from the University of Oregon's campus. To get from the hotel to campus , participants have several convenient options:

  • Walk (via a pedestrian friendly route)

  • Bike (via a bicycle friendly route, with a complimentary bike from the hotel if available or with a bike rental from nearby)

  • Bus (via the EmX, which runs every 10 minutes and stops within about a 5-minute walk of campus and the hotel)

  • Shuttle

If you plan to take the EmX bus, please follow the instructions to download the app and purchase tickets. Participants who prefer to come to campus in a car can call a taxi (e.g. Oregon Taxi for $13). Due to labor shortages, there will not be a shuttle.
