Below I have displayed just a few of the most common symbols you need to know to properly combine the knowledge you know about conventional theory and electrical. These common symbols are the basic necessities in electrical (Power, Switch, Load, and Ground)
Battery Voltage Symbol, this symbol will indicate that battery voltage is present at all times.
Normally open Switch, this symbol indicates that the switch is normally in an open state. Depending on the diagram power, ground, or signal can flow through this switch. Refer to your diagram.
Single filament bulb, this symbol indicates that this is a single filament bulb. This would be considered a (load) a load is a component that converts electrical energy into some form of work. Ex. this light bulb creates heat when given power and ground. That heat energy then creates light.
Ground Symbol, This ground indicates a physical ground, location is normally determined by a corresponding number next to it. Review component location to determine its specific location.
